Women are granted the right to Khula (separation) in place of the roan, which states that if a woman causes trouble, the male has the authority to divorce her; but, if the man is at fault, the woman is granted the right to Khula, which she may exercise subject to the restoration of dower rights.

• The husband will mail his attorney a power of attorney
• The Pakistani Embassy or Consulate of the nation where he is residing must certify the power of attorney
• In cases where a lawyer is given power of attorney, he will act legally
• The Arbitration Council in Pakistan handles divorce cases involving foreign parties
• A lawyer in the arbitration council will lead the procedures for a minimum of 90 days
